Personal Brand-Led marketing

Why the person behind the brand matters more than ever.

Hello my curious readers!😊👋🏻

Autumn is just around the corner and I’ve been caught up with multiple non-business related things but I’m so excited about so many upcoming endeavors and plans. Anyways, let’s jump right into our beloved topic ‘personal branding’. 🙌🏾 There was a time when a company could hide comfortably behind its logo, it just spoke, the audience listened, and the CEO stayed mostly in the background. Long gone are those days though; thankfully. That playbook is changing!

In 2026, people desperately want to know who is behind the business, what are their believes, how do they think, and whether they can actually be trusted. That is where personal brand-led marketing comes in. A topic of high importance & more than you think actually. However, it doesn’t mean turning every founder into an influencer. Most certainly not. It definitely doesn’t mean posting motivational quotes on LinkedIn every Tuesday either. 😄 Allow me to explain what this type of marketing means.

Personal brand-led marketing means putting real people, expertise and perspective closer to the center of your marketing. So just hold up your phone, speak your mind, and hit that post button. That’s why it is such an effective strategy that I always advocate for! It just brings you closer to your audience without sounding too robotic, salesy or scripted.

💎Why Does It Matter Now?

Well to put it in simple terms, trust has become a serious competitive advantage. Edelman’s 2026 Trust Barometer report describes a world ‘increasingly shaped by economic anxiety, technological disruption and declining optimism’, (Edelman, 2026). Its research also highlights the importance of trusted voices and relationships in opening doors for brands. I assume you must now understand why you should integrate it into your business strategy.

Moreover, in B2B especially, expertise truly matters. LinkedIn’s research mentions that buyers are ‘increasingly receptive to genuine insight from trusted experts rather than polished corporate messaging’, (LinkedIn insights, 2026). So think about your own influence when it comes your personal brand and how it is tied to your business. Here’s a quick question for you:

Would you rather buy from a company that says…

‘We are industry-leading experts’, or hear the founder explain ‘why they built the company, what they’ve learned, what they believe, and how they’ve helped customers?’ You already chose your answer. Wonderful!😊

Despite the fact that this strategy is so influential and is considered a lead generator, some questions still remain unanswered such as: isn’t personal branding over-hyped? Sometimes yes, but the criticism is understandable nonetheless. Not everyone is fond of it and you don’t necessarily have to hop on the wagon right away. We’ve all seen the perfectly staged ‘I woke up at 5 AM and built a €10 million company’ post. This doesn’t work in 2026 anymore.🙃

That’s why personal branding becomes ineffective when it becomes performance instead of personality. Therefore, you don’t need to overshare or become famous and you definitely don’t need to turn your entire life into content. These are some of the most common misconceptions surrounding this topic and I’m here to change your opinions about them or at least shed some light on this matter.

The goal of this strategy is basically recognition, relevance and credibility. So what does good personal brand-led marketing look like? Firstly start with expertise, share what you know and then add perspective. I’ve also made 2 reels about this topic on my IG page so feel free to check them out. Also, tell people what you think not just what everyone else is saying and show the process. Share lessons, mistakes, decisions, customer stories and behind-the-scenes moments. All of these constitute what we call personal branding/marketing!😊

Most importantly: connect the person to the business!

As a result, your personal brand should strengthen the company’s reputation and not compete with it. That’s particularly powerful for founders, consultants, agencies, professional services and B2B companies where trust can heavily influence the buying decisions.

💎The Opportunity In 2026

We all know that AI can produce content incredibly quickly and this makes generic content cheaper and differentiation harder. However, your experience, opinions, stories and human perspective are much harder to replicate. That’s the golden opportunity you need to seize. Don’t use personal branding to become another content creator but use it to become the person people remember when they need what you offer. Ultimately, people don’t just remember logos they remember people. So be that brand and give them that!

In a crowded, AI-powered marketing landscape, being remembered might be one of the most valuable assets your brand can build. Don’t forget that.

💎My Takeaway

Personal brand-led marketing isn’t about putting yourself above the brand. It’s about putting a human face behind the brand. Sometimes that’s exactly what makes people finally stop scrolling, start listening, and eventually, start buying. That’s not vanity marketing, but trust-building.

Likes Don't Pay The Bills. But Smart Strategies Do. You can’t deposit likes, but you can bank on strategy. Hello my curious readers, We all love likes, we love watching numbers jump, hearts pop up, and comments roll in. It feels so good like a tiny digital applause. In our fast-paced world today, people judge a brand faster than they judge pineapple on pizza. Yes, and in under three seconds sometimes. One scroll, one tap, one glance, and your audience has already decided whether they’ll engage with you or move on to the next shiny thing on their feed. Sounds familiar right?👀 The truth is, social media aren’t just the place where people share fancy vacation photos or quick dance challenges anymore (even though these trends are still hot). Social media are the front door to your brand. The very first impression actually; and if your door looks uninviting, outdated, or even worse, forgettable, 💭 then your audience won’t even bother knocking. Attention spans are so limited and sc...
Subtle Shifts That Can Transform Any Brand Into A Cult Favorite What if impact comes from insight, not volume? Hello my curious readers! 😎👋🏾 Spring is just around the corner and I’m finally back to writing again. 🙌🏾 It’s been a while actually and I guess I’m having a writer’s block or so, hhhmm. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about topics such as re-branding, restructuring, renewal, revival, and how some campaigns can transform entire business directions or even fates. Sometimes I feel it’s the un-thought of, smallest shift or change that usually results in the biggest impact ever and I just love that. 💜 This is exactly what inspired me to write about this topic. So let’s jump right into it, shall we? Lately I’ve been seen a ton of amazing brands and founders focusing too much on trends, short-term hype, followers, constant ads, and attention; as if their whole life depended on that. Maybe it does! 🙄 However, they are forgetting the fact in order to increase sales and create a...
Culture Marketing: The Move That Separates Leaders From Noise The shift from advertising to belonging and why it works? Hello my curious readers! 😎👋🏾 If this isn’t the hottest trend of 2026, then I don’t know what is! 🔥 Recently I’ve been so immersed in dissecting and analyzing campaigns that I can’t help but dig deeper into this topic. You may have already guessed it; yes I’m talking about viral and insanely successful IRL (in real life) campaign experiences. Numerous brands have been adopting such marketing behaviors so revive old products or to simply launch new ones. This is what I like to call ‘out of the box marketing’! 👏🏼 As audiences become much harder to impress and traditional ads lose their power , brands are finally moving onto something simple but game‑changing, ‘culture marketing ’. It’s named a such not out of randomness, but for its huge revenue generating abilities and also for its deep cultural involvement. I’ll explain how and why it became so trendy. Cul...
